The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group Announces ₹600 Crore Expansion Plan, Targets 1,000 Additional Rooms
Hospitality group plans to strengthen its presence across India through new luxury hotels, property expansions and an asset-light management model.
The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group has unveiled an ambitious ₹600 crore expansion strategy aimed at strengthening its footprint across India's hospitality sector. The group plans to add approximately 1,000 rooms to its existing portfolio of 2,300 keys, combining investments in owned properties with management contracts.
Under the proposed expansion, nearly 50% of the additional rooms will be developed through company-owned assets, while the remaining 50% will be introduced through hotel management agreements.
With more than four decades of hospitality experience, The LaLiT currently operates 14 hotels across India, including 12 luxury properties and two mid-scale hotels under The LaLiT Traveller brand.
New Hotel Developments Across Key Destinations:
As part of its investment strategy, the group is planning developments and expansions across five destinations, focusing on both established hospitality markets and emerging tourism locations.
One of the major upcoming projects is The LaLiT Ahmedabad, a 240-room luxury hotel expected to open ahead of the 2030 Commonwealth Games.
The group is also planning to enter Chitrakoot with a new property featuring approximately 50 rooms, expanding its presence in destinations with growing tourism potential.
Alongside new developments, The LaLiT is preparing significant expansions at several of its existing properties.
At Bekal, the group's 26-acre property situated between the Arabian Sea and the Nombili River will undergo an expansion with the addition of approximately 100 rooms.
In Goa, the group plans to introduce new hotel wings and additional villas, contributing another 50 rooms to its portfolio.
Meanwhile, The LaLiT Udaipur will see the development of two new wings comprising 55 additional rooms, along with upgraded banquet facilities and expanded spa infrastructure.
These developments are expected to enhance accommodation capacity, strengthen event and leisure offerings, and reinforce the group's presence in important hospitality destinations.
Asset-Light Expansion Through Hotel Management Contracts:
In addition to investing in owned hotels, The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group is adopting an asset-light growth strategy to expand its operations without relying entirely on property ownership.
The approach will allow the company to leverage its established hospitality expertise, operational systems and brand positioning while collaborating with property owners and investors.
Vrindavan is set to become the group's first hotel under this management model, with approximately 75 rooms planned.
The company is also evaluating opportunities in several destinations, including Chennai, Hyderabad, Leh, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Lakshadweep, Siliguri and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Through these potential developments, the group aims to expand into both major urban markets and distinctive leisure and pilgrimage destinations.
Focus on Brand Identity and Consistent Hospitality Standards:
Commenting on the expansion strategy, Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson and Managing Director of The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group, emphasised the importance of balancing business growth with the brand's established identity.
She outlined the group's intention to invest ₹600 crore in properties where it owns the land over the next decade, while pursuing management contracts in locations where partners provide the development capital.
Suri also stressed that every property, whether owned or managed, must maintain The LaLiT's signature hospitality standards and reflect its core philosophy of **"Hospitality with a Heart."
The group intends to apply its four decades of operational experience, established systems and hospitality expertise to new properties while preserving the brand's distinctive character.
Strengthening The LaLiT's Position in Indian Hospitality:
The proposed expansion represents an important phase in The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group's growth journey as it seeks to increase room inventory, diversify its presence and strengthen operations across India.
By combining owned hotel developments with management partnerships, the group aims to create a more flexible and scalable business model.
With investments planned across luxury hospitality, leisure destinations, pilgrimage centres and emerging tourism markets, The LaLiT is positioning itself for long-term growth while maintaining its commitment to personalised service and premium guest experiences.
